The Germans love Hasselhoff... and Gary Coleman

See, I dig Obama as much as the next Obamagirl, but really, something about this doll, selling for a whopping $200 a pop, reminds me more of a groomed Buckwheat than a Barack, OTAY? Or better yet, a nearly life-sized Gary Coleman. You decide. I’m not so sure that this isn’t an O-bomb-ination in terms of likeness.

Perhaps Obama transcends the doll genre and needs to move straight into the superhero/action figure stratosphere. It worked with Men in Black.

Drunken tomfoolery, a bunch of asses and of course, Bacon. A surprise guest appearance by Hunky Jesus 2007 from ODDiSTRY episode two, crowd Karaoke, Vikings, Pirates and Villains.

Well, she’s admittedly weird, and we like our weird. Leora has just posted a link on her site that shows a puppet she’s recently created singing to a Yael Naim song. Since puppets are inherently odd, here’s the video:

If that title there didn’t confuse n00bs enough, the entire premise behind the ROFLcon would. Besides being an excuse to shake things up in Baaaahstin with some major Internet Meme LOL-age, this deserves a tip of our finely-milled hats at ODDiSTRY. I’m not new to being weird or odd, but more so new to organized weirdness, AND it just warms the cockles of my heart to see evidence of such a gathering going on right now. Anil Dash summarizes it best in a past blog post.

Speaking of the tragically sexy, perhaps next time we’ll be there bringing more of teh geek sexay dressed in full-on Hampster Dance gear (furries?) or something far more more obnoxious (especially if we start one of our own memes… an Oddirector can dream, yah). Long ago and far away, I attended the Webbys and happened to find myself sandwiched between the likes of Dancing Paul and the Peter Pan guy. I can imagine that ROFLcon must be like that, but ten times frothier.

Hi. I’m the soon to be defined as “renegade” OddProducer at ODDiSTRY.COM. Our bad ass ODDiRECTOR, Diana Furka, had a stern talking with me tonight about the content of our blog and how it needs to be changed. I agree with her of course. However, I had to partake in one last unapproved blog post before she laid down the iron fist and golden rule of what ODDiSTRY is to become. We are now going to be refocusing much of the content of this blog and focus more on relevant Odd stuff.

Okay, okay, so it’s not a Rat, it’s a Chinchilla. It just looks like a rat. Why is this vermin, pleasantly named Frank, a source of contention between Quillpill.com and ODDiSTRY? Well, Quillpill has decided to use Frank as the official mascot of their site and Frankly, pun intended, we want it. It’s just to damned Odd to pass up. Why can’t we have Frank the Chinchilla to be our mascot?
Franks is strange, he’s tech savy as you can see by the photo below with his nifty Sprint Mogul Pocket PC running Windows mobile and not to mention, he’s a little dirty. And you know how ODDiSTRY loves our dirty.

So, thoughts? Does Frank fit ODDiSTRY? Should I beg and plead to Quillpill to hand him over?
